Role description
Role Overview We are seeking a skilled Data Scientist with strong expertise in AWS Athena and Amazon Redshift to transform complex datasets into actionable business insights. The ideal candidate will have experience working with cloud-based data platforms, advanced analytics, and machine learning techniques to support data-driven decision-making. Key Responsibilities • Analyze large, structured, and semi-structured datasets to identify trends, patterns, and business opportunities. • Develop predictive models, statistical analyses, and machine learning solutions to solve business problems. • Write and optimize complex SQL queries using Amazon Athena and Amazon Redshift. • Build scalable data models and collaborate with Data Engineering teams to improve data quality and accessibility. • Design dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate analytical findings to stakeholders. • Perform data cleaning, feature engineering, and exploratory data analysis (EDA). • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions. • Monitor model performance and recommend improvements for continuous optimization. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. • 4–8 years of experience in Data Science, Analytics, or a related role. • Strong hands-on experience with Amazon Athena and Amazon Redshift. • Advanced SQL skills with experience optimizing queries for large datasets. • Proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn) or R for data analysis and machine learning. • Experience with machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and predictive analytics. • Familiarity with AWS cloud services and modern data warehousing concepts. • Experience working with ETL processes and large-scale data pipelines. • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Preferred Skills • Experience with AWS Glue, Amazon S3, Lambda, or EMR. • Knowledge of BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or QuickSight. • Familiarity with Spark or distributed data processing frameworks. • Exposure to MLOps, model deployment, or CI/CD practices is a plus.
