Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist (Optimization) with deep expertise in supply chain optimization, replenishment strategy, and inventory allocation. The ideal candidate combines a strong foundation in applied mathematics and programming with hands-on experience applying optimization and machine learning techniques to solve real-world supply chain challenges.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Refactor and enhance existing optimization algorithms written in Python using object-oriented programming principles.
β’ Design and implement data science solutions to address complex business problems in the supply chain, retail, and CPG domains.
β’ Apply advanced statistical, mathematical, and machine learning models to analyze large datasets and optimize replenishment and allocation strategies.
β’ Build and deploy predictive models and optimization algorithms to improve inventory management, reduce stockouts, and drive operational efficiency.
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams (business, tech, and data engineering) to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions.
β’ Conduct experimentation and A/B testing to assess the impact of optimization strategies.
β’ Continuously monitor KPIs and recommend enhancements to replenishment and allocation processes.
β’ Stay updated on the latest advancements in optimization, supply chain analytics, and AI applications, and help mentor junior data scientists.
Requirements
β’ 10+ years of proven experience as a Data Scientist, with a strong focus on optimization and supply chain analytics.
β’ Masterβs or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Machine Learning, or a related field.
β’ Hands-on experience with mathematical programming solvers such as Gurobi, Xpress MP, CPLEX, or Google OR-Tools.
β’ Strong programming skills in Python, with proficiency in libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, PySpark, and SQL.
β’ Solid understanding of optimization, predictive modeling, and statistical analysis.
β’ Ability to translate analytical findings into clear business insights and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
β’ Collaborative mindset with a passion for problem-solving and continuous learning.
