Role description
PE Global is recruiting a data scientist for our industrial manufacturing client based in Desford. The role is an initial 12-month contract and is hybrid. The rate for this role is £16.20 PAYE or £22.18 Umbrella p/hour.
Responsibilities:
• Provide and maintain visually insightful live dashboards and reports along with continuously seeking to improve / create processes where needed to be used by the team
• Create, clean and analyse datasets using safe reliable data capture methods where needed using tools such as PowerApps
• Collaborate with Purchasing and cross functional team members to understand customer requirements, ability to effectively transmit, receive and accurately interpret ideas, information and needs through the application of appropriate data solutions
• Extract information from internal systems using SQL or EDFL to push information into Power BI
• Ensure projects are as lean as possible to ensure maximum transactional lean savings
• Create and format data structures within safe databases and or internal systems such as SharePoint and Snowflake
• Use techniques and coding within power query such as append tables, create joins etc to ensure as much data cleansing and data formatting is completed to ease processing time within power BI
• Incorporate several types of Dax formulas within power BI to enhance & measure the data to meet customer requirements.
• Continuously enhance data collection, storage and analysis methods.
• Document and train team members in use of new tools and reports, ability to convey complex data findings to non-technical stakeholders
Requirements:
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python, R, or SQL.
• Strong understanding of statistical analysis and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Highly competent user of PowerApps, SharePoint and Microsoft Office packages
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics or related field
• Experience in a similar role or a strong portfolio of data science projects.
