Role description
We're looking for a Data Scientist to design, build, and deploy production-ready statistical and machine learning models that power advanced analytics. You'll work across a multidisciplinary team to deliver scalable, interpretable solutions using Python and robust modelling techniques.
Client Details
Our client is a globally recognised provider of independent market intelligence, delivering data-driven insights and forecasts across countries, industries, and risk domains. They partner with leading organisations worldwide to support strategic decision-making in complex and evolving markets.
Description
β’ Develop and deploy production-level code and scalable data pipelines
β’ Build and optimise statistical and machine learning models for risk and analytics use cases
β’ Work extensively in Python to analyse large, complex datasets
β’ Extract insights from both structured and unstructured data, including NLP applications
β’ Collaborate with economists, analysts, and engineers to translate research into technical solutions
β’ Clearly communicate model outputs and methodologies to non-technical stakeholders
β’ Contribute to the evolution of modelling frameworks, including advanced analytics and AI approaches
Profile
β’ Proven experience writing production-quality code (not just prototyping)
β’ Strong proficiency in Python and relevant data science libraries
β’ Solid background in statistical modelling and machine learning
β’ Experience working with large datasets (data wrangling, analysis, and validation)
β’ Understanding of software engineering best practices (version control, testing, maintainability)
β’ Ability to translate business or research problems into scalable analytical solutions
β’ Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage cross-functional stakeholders
β’ Exposure to NLP, text analytics, or risk modelling is advantageous
Job Offer
β’ 6-month contract with strong potential for extension
β’ 2-3 days per week in the London office (hybrid working)
β’ Competitive day rate (outside IR35)
β’ Opportunity to work on high-impact, real-world problems
β’ Collaborative, intellectually stimulating environment with strong learning opportunities
