Role description
Job Title: Data Scientist II Job Description We are seeking a Data Scientist II who will work primarily in Lake County with a hybrid onsite schedule preferred, though remote work is an option. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design analytical work products and act as an analytics consultant. The position requires anticipating and identifying issues that could impact timelines or quality and developing solutions. Responsibilities • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design work products and act as an analytics consultant. • Anticipate and identify issues affecting timelines or quality, and develop solutions. • Lead and establish design principles and standards to ensure consistency and optimize user experience. • Develop prototypes, test methods, and algorithms using emerging statistical methodologies, machine learning, and AI. • Enable data-driven insights to support clinical development, including precision medicine. • Ensure adherence to federal and local regulations, Good Clinical Practices (GCPs), ICH Guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and functional quality standards. • Stay updated on new or evolving local regulations and policies related to clinical development. • Identify business needs and support the creation of standard KPIs, reports, and statistical analyses. • Coach and mentor junior team members. • Strategize with cross-functional teams as an analytics consultant to evaluate clinical trials and discuss emerging risks. • Apply machine learning techniques to validate assumptions and predict future behavior. Essential Skills • 3-5 years of analytics-related experience in clinical research, with preference for experience with clinical data. • Advanced proficiency in R and Python or other statistical packages. • Expert proficiency in Machine Learning, NLP, and advanced analytics techniques. • 1 year of experience with agentic frameworks such as LangGraph and OpenAI agents, including orchestration with tool-use LLMs, vector databases, and retrieval pipelines (RAG). Additional Skills & Qualifications • Education: Master's or PhD with 3-5 years of relevant experience. Work Environment The work environment is hybrid, primarily based in Lake County, with remote work options available. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and utilizing various technologies and methodologies, including machine learning, statistical packages, and agentic frameworks. There is a focus on adherence to regulatory standards and quality guidelines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of North Chicago, IL. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
