Data Scientist III

Title: Data Scientist III Industry: Gaming/Entertainment Location: Santa Monica, CA Duration: 12 months Responsibilities • Collaborate as part of a central insights team to develop frameworks that deepen the client’s understanding of player behavior and game dynamics. • Formulate and test hypotheses about the relationships between player sentiment, engagement, and monetization, exploring both leading and lagging indicators. • Conduct exploratory data analysis and build statistical models to connect complex sentiment data with player telemetry for the same audiences. • Transform and prepare longitudinal survey and other complex datasets for robust analysis. • Advise on survey design and methodology to optimize data quality and analysis potential. Requirements • Ph.D. in Machine Learning, AI, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field with 3+ years of relevant industry experience; or M.S. with 4–6+ years; or B.S. with 6–8+ years of relevant experience. • Proficient in Python and SQL for large-scale data analysis, including work in distributed environments (e.g., Spark or Databricks). • Experience in exploratory data analysis using both ordinal and continuous data to derive meaningful insights and inform business decisions. • Expertise in causal inference methods applied to observational panel data (e.g., fixed effects, IPW). • Strong background in modeling longitudinal sentiment data, including hierarchical or latent growth models.
