Location: Remote (PST preferred; must have overlap with Eastern and Pacific Time Zones)

Introduction
TPG is hiring a Senior Data Scientist to join a high-impact Ads Data Science team within a fast-scaling digital media and advertising technology environment. This team is focused on optimizing the ad experience and maximizing platform performance through robust data infrastructure, experimentation, and machine learning innovation.
This role is ideal for a data scientist with a passion for solving complex ad tech challengesโranging from auction optimization and targeting to performance measurement and anomaly detection. Youโll work with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to drive strategic improvements in ad delivery and advertiser experience.
Key Responsibilities
โข Design and apply data science solutions to improve ad platform performance and advertiser outcomes
โข Analyze large-scale datasets to uncover insights, trends, and strategic opportunities
โข Build self-service data assets and dashboards for product and engineering teams
โข Lead deep dives into topline metrics to support decision-making and guide product roadmaps
โข Collaborate across functions to define product requirements and translate them into DS models
โข Develop ML-based systems for anomaly detection, forecasting, and pattern recognition
โข Drive continuous improvement through causal inference, A/B testing, and experimentation
โข Communicate data insights and model recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Required Qualifications
โข MS or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related quantitative field
โข 5+ years of experience in data science, ML, or applied analytics roles
โข Strong understanding of statistical modeling, causal inference, and experimental design
โข Proficiency in Python or R, with experience using libraries like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
โข Deep knowledge of SQL and working with relational databases
Preferred Skills
โข Experience with large-scale data processing (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Hive); BigQuery experience is a plus
โข Background in digital advertising, ad tech, or real-time bidding environments
โข Experience designing and analyzing online experiments (A/B testing)
โข Ability to build and deploy production-level ML models
