Role description
Data Scientist (Private Equity Value Creation) Harnham, the leading recruitment specialist in Data and AI, is currently partnering with a PE-backed mid-market consulting and value creation business that helps portfolio companies unlock value through data, analytics, AI, and operational transformation initiatives. The team works directly with executive stakeholders to identify opportunities, implement modern data solutions, and deliver measurable business impact across a diverse client portfolio. β€’ Role: Data Scientist β€’ Location: Remote (Preference for candidates based near New York or Atlanta) β€’ Pay: $80 - $120 per hour β€’ Length: 3 - 6 month initial contract β€’ Utilization: 40 hr/week β€’ Benefits: 401k, Medical, Vision etc As a Data Scientist, you will join a high-performing "Rapid Squad" focused on helping private equity-backed businesses accelerate value creation through data and AI. Working within small teams of 2-3 consultants, you will support end-to-end delivery from due diligence and opportunity identification through to the implementation of advanced analytics, machine learning, and modern data platforms. You will partner directly with client executives, including CFOs, CROs, IT leaders, and business stakeholders, to assess technology landscapes, identify opportunities for improvement, and build solutions that drive operational and financial outcomes. Key Responsibilities: β€’ Work directly with CFOs, CROs, and technology leaders to identify opportunities across areas such as forecasting, AP/AR optimization, and operational performance. β€’ Design, build, and deploy advanced analytics and machine learning solutions. β€’ Collaborate within small, cross-functional implementation teams delivering end-to-end data and analytics projects. β€’ Support the implementation of modern data platforms and analytics solutions using Snowflake, Databricks, and Power BI. β€’ Evaluate existing data architectures and recommend scalable data science and data engineering solutions. β€’ Translate complex business problems into actionable analytical frameworks and measurable outcomes. β€’ Contribute to engagements across manufacturing, retail, and healthcare clients. Requirements: β€’ Hands-on experience with forecasting and predictive analytics use cases. β€’ Deep understanding of modern data platforms, including Snowflake and Databricks. β€’ Experience working with data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI. β€’ Experience designing and evaluating experiments and statistical testing frameworks. β€’ Exposure to Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs). β€’ Previous experience supporting consulting, private equity, value creation, transformation, or portfolio operations initiatives is highly desirable. β€’ Former FP&A, strategy, or business analytics experience is considered a strong advantage.
