Job Title: Data Scientist
Job Location: Melvindale, MI (Minimum of 3 days onsite: Tuesday–Thursday)
Duration: 1‑year contract with extensions or potential to convert to permanent
Job Overview:
Insight Global is seeking a Data Scientist to support the Gas Leak Management organization. This role is responsible for translating business requirements into analytical solutions that drive effective operational and capital decision‑making. The Data Scientist will collect, validate, transform, and analyze large datasets, build Power BI dashboards, and deliver insights related to leak activity, assets, and spend. This role will also support predictive analytics, reporting automation, and self‑service analytics capabilities across the business.
Must Haves:
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science) OR 3+ years of experience in a data analytics, data science, or programming role
• Strong experience performing advanced data analysis, including cost‑benefit analysis, forecasting, predictive modeling, what‑if analysis, and impact analysis
• Strong understanding of Power BI data models, data extraction, and dashboard intelligence
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience collaborating with cross‑functional stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver end‑to‑end analytical solutions
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present analytical insights clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences
• Strong understanding of Power BI data models, data extraction, and dashboard intelligence
Day to Day:
This Data Scientist supports the client's Gas Leak Management team by pulling data from Picarro and other enterprise systems, analyzing leak and spend data, and building Power BI dashboards that drive operational efficiency, regulatory reporting, and capital planning decisions.
