Role description
Duration: 15 month contract
Location: Fully Remote (EST working hours)
Pay Rate: $60/hour
Why This Role Is Open
Our client is currently in Phase 1 of their o9 implementation, operating under the staff model, which allows the work to be completed with a lean team. As they prepare to advance the platform later this year, they are looking to bring on an experienced Data Scientist to help upgrade and enhance the machine learning foundation of the solution in the fall.
Role Overview
Insight Global is seeking a skilled Data Scientist to support a large CPG client on a long‑term, remote engagement. This individual will join the Data & Analytics organization and work closely with the data science team, playing a key role in the company’s o9 planning platform implementation.
o9 is an enterprise planning platform used to forecast demand and align supply, operations, and finance within a single system. This role will be heavily focused on developing, refining, and scaling statistical and machine learning–based forecasting models to support the next phase of the implementation.
Responsibilities
• Design, build, and optimize forecasting models using statistical and machine learning techniques
• Support the transition from the staff model to a more advanced, ML‑driven o9 implementation
• Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable data science solutions
• Leverage Databricks to develop, test, and deploy models in a production environment
• Contribute to model performance tuning, validation, and ongoing optimization
Must‑Have Qualifications
• 4–5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist in a corporate or enterprise environment
• Strong background in forecasting and predictive modeling using statistical and machine learning techniques
• Master’s or PhD in Data Science (or a closely related field)
• Recent, hands‑on experience working with Databricks
• Some level of exposure to or experience supporting o9 implementations
Nice to Have
• Prior experience in the CPG industry
• Experience supporting large‑scale enterprise planning or supply chain systems
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex models to non‑technical stakeholders
