Role description
Data Scientist – Product Analytics (Authentication & Identity) UK (Remote) - 12 months (Contract) Role Overview We are looking for a Data Scientist to support a large-scale Authentication & Identity product team within a global consumer technology organization. This role focuses on improving how users register, log in, and recover accounts, ensuring a seamless and reliable user experience at massive scale. You will work closely with product managers and software engineers, using data, experimentation, and analytics to understand user behaviour, diagnose issues, and guide product decisions. This is a highly collaborative, product-facing role with strong visibility and impact across multiple consumer applications used by millions of users worldwide. Key Responsibilities • Analyse A/B experiments to measure the impact of new authentication features • Perform funnel analysis across registration, login, and account recovery flows • Conduct root cause analysis to identify drop-offs and failures in user journeys • Carry out opportunity sizing to quantify potential improvements and product impact • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting to track feature performance • Translate complex data insights into clear, actionable recommendations • Partner closely with engineers and product teams to support delivery timelines Required Skills & Experience Must Have • Strong hands-on SQL skills (complex queries, large datasets) • Proven experience with A/B testing and experimentation analysis • Background in product or growth analytics • Experience analysing consumer-facing products or apps • Ability to communicate insights clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders Good to Have • Python or R for data analysis and modelling • Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker, Power BI) • Experience working with large-scale event-level data
