Job Description:
The Data Scientist plays a critical role in delivering actionable insights by applying advanced data science techniques, analytical methods, and data interpretation. This role supports organizational decision-making to enhance operational efficiency, improve outcomes, and drive data-informed strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Provide mentorship and guidance to junior data scientists and team members
β’ Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate them into data-driven solutions
β’ Design, develop, and support internal web applications and interactive tools for data products
β’ Analyze and assess data quality, structure, and integrity from multiple source systems
β’ Work closely with data engineers and BI teams to optimize data architecture, ETL processes, and dashboards
β’ Develop rapid prototypes and minimum viable products (MVPs) to meet user needs
β’ Apply statistical analysis, data mining, and machine learning techniques to extract insights
β’ Identify opportunities to improve processes and implement best practices
β’ Manage and analyze large datasets to support operational and strategic decisions
β’ Maintain and contribute to code repositories (e.g., version control using GitHub)
β’ Educate end users on interpreting data and analytical outputs
β’ Test, evaluate, and maintain data solutions and software systems
β’ Document technical specifications and ensure adherence to standards
β’ Lead or support workshops and training sessions for users
Required Qualifications:
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Informatics, Mathematics, or related field + 2+ years of experience
β’ Masterβs degree in a related field
β’ OR 4+ years of relevant data science experience .
Required Skills & Experience:
β’ Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL
β’ Experience with data manipulation (cleaning, transformation, standardization)
β’ Strong knowledge of statistical methods (regression, distributions, hypothesis testing)
β’ Experience with machine learning techniques (clustering, decision trees, neural networks)
β’ Understanding of relational and dimensional database systems
β’ Experience building user-facing applications using frameworks like Shiny, Dash, Flask, or Streamlit (2+ years)
β’ Ability to connect applications to backend data pipelines and deploy analytic tools
β’ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills
β’ Excellent communication and presentation abilities
β’ Experience creating and delivering data visualizations for diverse audiences
β’ Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Qualifications:
β’ Experience leading workshops or training sessions
β’ Familiarity with:
β’ Geospatial analysis and geocoding
β’ Network analysis tools (e.g., Neo4j)
β’ Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
