Overview
Weβre partnering with a client to add a contract Data Scientist (12 months) to support stakeholders through dashboards, analytics, and data-driven insights. The focus is on building tech-facing reporting that leaders can use to make decisionsβstarting with initiatives like contractor spend visibility, employee engagement survey analytics, software licensing insights, and network traffic trend/pattern analysis.
What You'll Be Doing
Analytics, Modeling & Business Insight
β’ Build analytical models that support stakeholder planning and tech-related initiatives
β’ Analyze datasets tied to contractor spend, workforce signals, and operational performance
β’ Surface trends, outliers, and opportunities, and package findings for leadership consumption
Dashboards & Reporting (Tableau)
β’ Create and enhance interactive Tableau dashboards for stakeholders
β’ Turn survey data into meaningful metrics and narratives, not just charts
β’ Present results in a way thatβs clear, structured, and actionable for senior audiences
Data Work (SQL) + Partnering with Data/Engineering
β’ Develop and tune advanced SQL for large, complex datasets
β’ Collaborate across teams to ensure reporting is built on consistent definitions and reliable data
β’ Contribute to making analytics more scalable (repeatable pipelines, cleaner datasets, improved accessibility)
Advanced Analytics / ML (as needed)
β’ Use statistical and machine learning approaches when they add value (forecasting, segmentation, predictive indicators)
β’ Leverage Python to wrangle data, automate workflows, and support modeling efforts
Stakeholder Collaboration
β’ Work closely with stakeholders, and partner with Finance and HR as needed
β’ Translate business questions into metrics, analysis plans, and practical deliverables
β’ Communicate confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
What Weβre Looking For (Must Haves)
β’ 5+ years in data analytics / data science roles
β’ Strong, hands-on SQL experience (comfortable with complex queries and performance considerations)
β’ Proven experience building dashboards in Tableau (end-to-end ownership)
β’ Background in data modeling and analytical problem solving
β’ Ability to explain complex findings to non-technical audiences
β’ Experience working with spend, workforce, or operational datasets (any combination)
Preferred / Nice to Have
β’ Strong Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, etc.)
β’ Applied experience with predictive modeling / machine learning in real projects
β’ Experience operating in fast-moving, cross-functional environments
