Role description
Data Scientist
At Curate, Data Scientists work at the intersection of data, technology, and business impact. This role partners closely with clients, product teams, and engineers to translate complex business questions into actionable insights and data-driven solutions, including modern LLM- and GenAI-powered systems.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical fundamentals, hands-on experience with Python and SQL, and comfort working across the full lifecycle of data science projects—from problem framing to delivery. You will build and maintain analytical and modeling solutions, contribute to LLM-based applications, and help define how success is measured, especially in ambiguous or evolving problem spaces.
What You’ll Do
• Develop clean, maintainable Python code using common data and ML libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy)
• Build and support Generative AI and LLM-enabled applications, including:
• Integrating with LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Vertex AI, Azure OpenAI)
• Implementing RAG systems using embeddings, vector databases, and retrieval strategies
• Working with frameworks such as LangChain and/or Google Agent Developer Kit (ADK)
• Write and optimize SQL queries and work with large datasets in Google BigQuery
• Frame vague or complex business problems into clear analytical or modeling approaches
• Define and implement evaluation frameworks for LLM-based systems, including offline tests, human-in-the-loop reviews, and automated metrics
• Clearly communicate findings, trade-offs, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Collaborate in cross-functional teams with a strong sense of ownership and bias toward action
What We’re Looking For
• Minimum of 5+ yrs experience as a Data Scientist
• Strong technical foundation in Python, SQL, and core software engineering practices
• Comfort navigating incomplete data and ambiguous requirements
• Ability to explain complex concepts simply and work effectively in client-facing environments
• An iterative, impact-driven mindset aligned with Curate’s consulting culture
