Contract Role: Data Scientist Contract Location: London or Sheffield (Hybrid) Contract Duration: 6 months initially Contract Start Date: Immediate Contract Classification: Inside IR35 Role Overview This is an exciting opportunity to join Deloitte for an engagement with a leading global Tier 1 Financial Services organisation. We are seeking a Data Scientist to analyse large datasets, uncover actionable insights, and identify high-value use cases that support operational and strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities • Analyse structured and unstructured datasets to identify trends and patterns. • Develop predictive and analytical models to support business objectives. • Produce data-driven insights and visualisations for stakeholders. • Collaborate with AI Engineers to support machine learning and AI initiatives. • Perform data cleansing, feature engineering, and exploratory analysis. • Present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences. • Support experimentation and model evaluation activities. Required Skills & Experience • Strong experience with Python, SQL, and data analysis libraries. • Experience with machine learning and statistical modelling techniques. • Proficiency in tools such as Pandas, Scikit-learn, Power BI, or Tableau. • Strong understanding of data storytelling and visualisation. • Experience working with large and complex datasets. • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Desirable Skills • Experience with NLP or AI/LLM-related projects. • Knowledge of cloud analytics platforms. • Experience in operational or government environments.
