Data Scientist – 9-Month Fixed Term Contract Location: Hybrid (UK-based) Type: FTC, Full-Time About the Role Our client is seeking a Data Scientist to join their Data Science and Analytics team on a 9-month fixed term contract. This role plays a key part in using advanced modelling techniques to solve complex business challenges—particularly in understanding customer behaviour, identifying scheme misuse, supporting electric vehicle (EV) transition insights, and analysing affordability trends. Working closely with stakeholders across multiple business units, you’ll apply machine learning and statistical analysis to develop actionable insights that inform strategic decisions. Key Responsibilities • Build predictive models to analyse customer behaviour and identify risks (e.g., misuse, affordability, EV readiness) • Use statistical techniques such as regression and hypothesis testing to derive insights • Create impactful dashboards and visualisations that support business storytelling • Apply NLP techniques to analyse qualitative customer feedback • Translate complex analysis into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences • Collaborate with teams across the business to deliver insight-led solutions About You • Strong background in machine learning, data science, and advanced analytics using Python • Skilled in SQL and experienced with cloud platforms such as Snowflake and SageMaker • Able to clearly communicate insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders • Experience working in cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, analytical environment • Passion for solving real-world business problems using data Minimum Requirements • Degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics) • Experience applying machine learning to structured and unstructured data • Strong technical expertise in Python, SQL, and data visualisation • Demonstrated impact through previous data science projects • Strong analytical problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills What’s on Offer • Competitive salary and annual bonus • 15% employer pension contribution (9% during probation) • 28 days’ holiday + buy/sell options • Private medical insurance and life assurance • Electric/Hybrid Car and Cycle to Work schemes • Health screening and wellbeing apps • Volunteering days and inclusive culture • Hybrid working (up to 2 days remote per week) Our client is committed to building an inclusive, diverse, and flexible workplace, and encourages applications from people of all backgrounds.
