Role description
Job Title: Data Scientist Location: Trenton, NJ – Local candidates only (3 days onsite) Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join our analytics team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in statistical modeling, machine learning, and data analysis, and will be responsible for deriving actionable insights from complex data sets to support business decisions. This is an on-site role requiring strong collaboration with internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: β€’ Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and business insights. β€’ Develop, test, and deploy predictive models and machine learning algorithms. β€’ Create clear, actionable reports and visualizations for stakeholders. β€’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams including actuarial, underwriting, and IT to understand data needs and support business initiatives. β€’ Ensure data quality and integrity across multiple sources and platforms. β€’ Stay current with emerging data science methodologies, tools, and best practices. Required Qualifications: β€’ 2-3 years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related field. β€’ Strong programming skills in Python, R, and/or SQL. β€’ Hands-on experience with machine learning libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.). β€’ Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent. β€’ Strong understanding of statistics, probability, and predictive modeling. β€’ Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. β€’ Must be able to work onsite 3 days per week in New Jersey.
