Role description
Data Security & DLP Analyst (AI Training)
About The Role
We partner with the world's leading AI research teams and labs to build and train cutting-edge AI models. Now we're looking for data security professionals who understand how data leaks actually happen in the real world.
This is a unique opportunity to apply your hands-on security expertise to a high-impact problem: teaching AI systems to reason accurately about sensitive information, data exposure, and protection strategies. Your real-world knowledge of DLP tools, classification frameworks, and security incidents will directly shape how the next generation of AI understands data risk.
• Organization: Alignerr
• Type: Hourly Contract
• Location: Remote
• Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
• Analyze realistic data security and DLP scenarios across cloud, SaaS, and enterprise environments
• Classify data sensitivity levels, exposure paths, and policy violations
• Evaluate prevention, detection, and incident response strategies for accuracy and completeness
• Generate, label, and validate data security cases used to train and evaluate AI systems
• Provide structured expert feedback that helps AI reason correctly about sensitive information risk
Who You Are
• 2+ years of experience in data security, compliance, security operations, or a closely related field
• Practical familiarity with DLP tools, data classification frameworks, and privacy or regulatory concepts
• Solid understanding of how data risk plays out in real environments — not just on paper
• Able to analyze scenarios critically and communicate your reasoning clearly in writing
• Self-motivated and comfortable working independently on asynchronous, task-based assignments
Nice to Have
• Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) or SaaS data governance
• Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA, or CCPA
• Background in security consulting, incident response, or compliance auditing
• Prior experience contributing to AI training, annotation, or evaluation projects
Why Join Us
• Work directly on frontier AI systems alongside leading AI research labs
• Fully remote and flexible — set your own hours and work at your own pace
• Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and global collaboration
• Meaningful work that directly influences how AI handles sensitive information
• Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as projects evolve
