Role Description Data Solutions Architect Nottingham (Hybrid – 3 days onsite) Start: July 2026 Employment Type: Permanent / Fixed Term We are seeking a highly experienced Data Solutions Architect to lead the design and delivery of modern, scalable data platforms on Microsoft Azure. This is a strategic role where you will shape enterprise data architecture, enable advanced analytics and AI capabilities, and drive cloud transformation initiatives across complex environments. You will work closely with business and technology stakeholders to translate data requirements into robust, future-ready solutions, ensuring performance, security, and alignment with enterprise architecture standards. Key Responsibilities • Design and architect scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms on Microsoft Azure to support enterprise analytics, business intelligence, and AI/ML workloads • Define and implement modern Lakehouse architectures using Databricks, Delta Lake, ADLS, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Factory • Lead the development of ETL/ELT pipelines for batch and real-time processing using PySpark, Spark SQL, Python, Scala, and Azure-native services • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into cloud-based architecture solutions • Establish and drive best practices across data modeling, data warehousing, governance, metadata management, and data quality • Ensure robust implementation of Azure security, compliance, and governance frameworks (RBAC, Key Vault, encryption, monitoring, auditing) • Champion DevOps and automation practices, including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and tooling such as Terraform, Azure DevOps, and Git • Provide technical leadership and architectural governance, including design reviews, standards enforcement, and mentoring engineering teams • Drive cloud transformation initiatives, ensuring solutions are scalable, cost-effective, and aligned to business outcomes What We’re Looking For • Extensive experience in designing and delivering enterprise-scale data solutions on Microsoft Azure • Deep expertise with Databricks and modern data platform architecture • Strong hands-on experience with data engineering frameworks, distributed processing, and cloud-native services • Proven track record in large-scale data environments, including performance optimisation and governance • Strong understanding of cloud security, compliance, and enterprise architecture frameworks • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, automation, and DevOps practices • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels • A collaborative mindset with a passion for innovation, mentoring, and continuous improvement Key Skills • Data Architecture • Microsoft Azure Platform • Databricks & Lakehouse Architecture • Azure Data Factory, Synapse, ADLS • PySpark, Spark SQL, Python, Scala • DevOps (Azure DevOps, Git, Terraform) • Data Governance & Security Hurry & apply for a more detailed conversation! #UST Skills data architecture,azure platform,devops git,azure devops,microsoft azure
