Job Summary:
The Metadata & Reporting Liaison acts as a crucial bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring that enterprise metadata, governance, and reporting processes are clearly documented and accessible. This contractor role is pivotal in translating complex data concepts into actionable, business-friendly language within CHOP’s data catalog (Gene), directly supporting governance, data quality, and reporting initiatives. The role offers significant impact by enhancing the accessibility, completeness, and compliance of critical data assets across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and simplify technical metadata, data lineage, and reporting logic for inclusion in the enterprise data catalog.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering and Analytics teams to document data sources, transformations, and quality checks.
- Translate technical data rules for business and operational teams and consolidate rules by core data domains.
- Define documentation standards and processes to certify data and ensure metadata completeness and consistency.
- Identify and remediate gaps in existing documentation, maintaining transparency and supporting governance and compliance.
- Document enterprise metrics, create frameworks linking related metrics, and remediate metrics lacking ownership.
- Work with Research and Privacy teams to establish guidelines for handling PHI/PII and ensure data policy compliance.
- Support operationalization of Data Retention policies and develop artifacts to make data initiatives accessible.
- Create and maintain data policies, ensuring alignment with CHOP global standards.
