Role description

Job Title: Data Specialist

Location: Peoria, IL or Chicago, IL

Job Type: W2 Contract (12-month, potential to extend or convert)

Expected hours per week: 40

Schedule: Fully onsite Monday - Friday

Pay Range: $58-62/hour

Job Description: As a Data Specialist, you will assist in enabling Business Intelligence (BI) datasets to support Tableau dashboards. Your primary responsibilities will involve working in Snowflake and Snap Logic to enable these datasets. Strong SQL and Snowflake skills are required, while experience with Snap Logic, Tableau, GA4, and Python are added bonuses.

   • Data exploration

   • Data preparation and transformation

Candidate Requirements: Education & Experience Required:

   • Degree preferred with 2-3 years’ experience in this capacity

   • Without a degree, 5+ years’ experience required

Technical Skills (Required):

   • Strong SQL and Snowflake

   • Understanding of dimensional and relational data modeling

   • Knowledge of database security and performance standards

   • Close attention to detail

   • Maintain and enhance Snowflake data warehouse to enable Insights and Reporting Teams

   • Competent to perform all necessary data-related tasks, including data design, data quality, metadata management, data governance, etc.

   • Troubleshoot complex problems and provide solutions to data issues

   • Liaise with global teams to support project planning for efficient creation/maintenance of high-quality data

   • Ensure compliance with the latest data standards supported by the company, brand, legal, and information security (data security and privacy compliance)

   • Maintain knowledge of functional technology of the data management systems as they change with upgrades and new releases

   • Contribute to designing robust, scalable data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) solutions

   • Develop data ingestion store specifications identifying source systems and the tables and fields to ingest

   • Develop data object pipeline specifications including detailed field-level mapping, business rules, data quality rules, etc.

Technical Skills (Desired):

   • Snap Logic, Tableau, GA4, and Python

   • Strong statistical and mathematical knowledge

   • Completion of relevant industry-specific certifications

Soft Skills (Required):

   • Ability to manage multiple projects

   • Managing multiple tasks at one time

   • Independent worker

   • Strong collaboration and communication skills. Summarize and communicate complete solutions into simple messaging.
