Data Specialist

Role Overview Our client is seeking a contract Data Specialist to support Phase 0 discovery for a company‑wide IT Transformation initiative focused on IT Platform Modernization. This role will provide hands‑on expertise in product taxonomy, data analysis, and migration planning across ServiceNow and Salesforce. The primary objective of this role is to help define and validate data structures, taxonomy models, and migration approaches that will inform downstream platform modernization decisions. This role is on a contractual-basis, On-Demand 20-40 hours per week, fully remote, 3 months project duration, and with an immediate start date Key Responsibilities • Support definition and refinement of a company‑wide product and service taxonomy • Analyze current‑state data structures across Salesforce and ServiceNow • Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, and normalization needs • Support data migration discovery and planning (scope, approach, risks) • Help map products, services, and entitlements across platforms • Partner with platform owners, architects, and transformation leads to ensure data alignment • Contribute to Phase 0 discovery outputs, including assumptions, constraints, and recommendations • Document findings and provide clear, decision‑ready inputs for leadership Required Experience • Strong experience with product taxonomy, data modeling, or master data concepts • Hands‑on experience working with Salesforce and ServiceNow data • Experience supporting or planning enterprise data migrations • Ability to analyze complex data environments and translate findings into clear recommendations • Experience working in early‑stage discovery or assessment phases Nice to Have • Experience supporting platform modernization or enterprise transformation initiatives • Familiarity with CRM, ITSM, or service delivery data models • Prior short‑term contract or discovery‑phase experience Role Objective This role exists to bring clarity to data and taxonomy foundations early, reducing downstream risk and rework as the organization moves from discovery into execution of its IT Platform Modernization program.
