Role description
IntePros is seeking an experienced Data Storytelling and User Experience Specialist II to support our award-winning healthcare client in advancing user experience (UX) and data storytelling best practices across enterprise data assets. This contract role plays a key part in shaping how dashboards, reports, and presentations are designed, taught, and adopted through self-service analytics.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience applying UX principles to data visualization, developing Power BI templates, and confidently communicating design concepts to diverse audiences. This individual will partner closely with project leadership and the Data Literacy & Enablement team to elevate usability, clarity, and impact across analytics products.
Responsibilities
β’ Support the development of UX-driven templates for dashboards, reports, and presentations, applying best practices in data storytelling and visual design under the guidance of senior team members
β’ Assist in designing and delivering UX and data storytelling training sessions for employees across the organization
β’ Partner with DSCOE team members to support consultation efforts, helping teams apply UX and storytelling principles to real-world analytics initiatives
β’ Learn and consistently apply accessibility standards and inclusive design practices across all data products
β’ Collaborate with data professionals, designers, and business stakeholders to translate user needs into clear, usable, and visually effective data experiences
Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs degree (Required)
β’ Degree in a related field (Preferred)
β’ UX certifications (Preferred)
β’ Minimum of 2 years of UX experience with a portfolio of work (Required)
β’ At least 3 years of data analysis experience (Required)
β’ 5+ years of data analysis experience (Preferred)
β’ Experience working in a complex healthcare or healthcare-adjacent environment (Preferred)
β’ Technical experience with Power BI and other data visualization tools (Preferred)
β’ Foundational knowledge of user experience and data storytelling principles, with demonstrated application in data products
β’ Strong passion for user-centered design and clear, effective communication of information
β’ Ability to translate business questions into thoughtful data visualizations with guidance from senior team members
β’ Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, including gathering requirements, participating in reviews, and supporting analytic product delivery
β’ Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills
β’ Clear written and verbal communication skills, with comfort explaining design and data concepts to diverse audiences
β’ Collaborative mindset with openness to feedback and continuous learning
β’ Intermediate proficiency in SQL and R
β’ Intermediate knowledge of medical terminology (Preferred)
β’ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
β’ Advanced proficiency in BI and analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI, QlikSense, Tableau, SAP Business Objects, Posit Connect)
β’ Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools, including Word and PowerPoint
β’ Strong project, time, and workload management skills
β’ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
