Job Summary
β’ We are seeking an experienced Data Modeler with strong expertise in Teradata and Erwin Data Modeler tools.
β’ The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise data models that support analytical, operational, and reporting needs.
β’ This role requires close collaboration with business analysts, data architects, ETL developers, and database administrators to ensure data integrity, scalability, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Design, develop, and maintain logical and physical data models for Teradata-based data warehouses and data marts.
β’ Use Erwin Data Modeler to create, update, and maintain data models, metadata, and data dictionaries.
β’ Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective database designs.
β’ Define and implement data modeling standards, best practices, and naming conventions.
β’ Collaborate with data architects and ETL teams to ensure consistency between data models and ETL processes.
β’ Perform data profiling, data analysis, and impact analysis on data model changes.
β’ Optimize data structures for performance, scalability, and maintainability in the Teradata environment.
β’ Support data governance and metadata management initiatives.
β’ Participate in code reviews, design sessions, and data quality assessments.
β’ Provide documentation and support for production and development teams.
Required Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
β’ 5+ years of experience in data modeling for large-scale data warehouse environments.
β’ Strong experience with Teradata databases and architecture.
β’ Expertise in Erwin Model Mart.
β’ Strong understanding of normalized and dimensional modeling techniques.
β’ Experience with ETL design concepts, data governance, and metadata management.
β’ Solid understanding of SQL and database performance tuning.
β’ Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Experience in cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and integration with Teradata.
β’ Familiarity with BI/reporting tools (Tableau, Power BI, SAP Business Objects, etc.).
β’ Exposure to Agile / DevOps methodologies.
