Apply via Dice today! • Location: Lansing, Michigan • Work Arrangement: Hybrid • Contract: This is a Contract position. • Mode of Interview: Virtual Interview via MS Teams. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain both logical and physical data models for Teradata-based data warehouses and data marts. • Utilize Erwin Data Modeler (including Model Mart) to create, update, and manage data models, metadata, and data dictionaries. • Translate complex business requirements into effective and scalable database designs. • Define and enforce data modeling standards, best practices, and naming conventions. • Collaborate with ETL teams to ensure seamless data flow and process consistency. • Conduct data profiling, analysis, and impact assessments for data model changes. • Optimize data structures and SQL for superior performance and maintainability within the Teradata architecture. • Support data governance and metadata management initiatives. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. • 5+ years of dedicated experience in data modeling for large-scale data warehouse environments. • Strong experience with Teradata databases and architecture. • Expertise in Erwin Data Modeler and Erwin Model Mart. • Strong foundational understanding of both normalized (3NF) and dimensional modeling (Kimball) techniques. • Experience with ETL design concepts, data governance, and metadata management. • Solid command of SQL and practical knowledge of database performance tuning. • Excellent analytical, communication, and technical documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and their integration with Teradata. • Familiarity with major BI/reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). • Exposure to Agile / DevOps methodologies.
