Job Title: Data Warehouse Engineer (Amazon Redshift) Location: Alpharetta, GA || Cincinnati, OH (Hybrid 2-3 days a week) Employment Type: 12+ Months Contract Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Data Warehouse Engineer with strong expertise in Amazon Redshift to design, develop, and maintain scalable data warehouse solutions. The ideal candidate will work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to ensure efficient data availability, reliability, and performance across our analytics ecosystem. Key Responsibilities β€’ Design, build, and optimize data warehouse architectures and ETL/ELT pipelines using Amazon Redshift and related AWS services (Glue, S3, Lambda, Athena, etc.). β€’ Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and metadata to support analytical and reporting needs. β€’ Implement and manage data ingestion workflows from various sources (databases, APIs, flat files, streaming data). β€’ Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across the warehouse and downstream systems. β€’ Optimize Redshift performance through query tuning, distribution/sort key management, and workload monitoring. β€’ Collaborate with data analysts and BI developers to support reporting, dashboards, and self-service analytics. β€’ Automate recurring data operations using Python, SQL, or AWS Glue jobs. β€’ Ensure data security, compliance, and governance practices are enforced within the warehouse environment. β€’ Participate in data architecture discussions, capacity planning, and technology evaluations for continuous improvement. Required Qualifications β€’ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field. β€’ 3–7 years of hands-on experience in data warehouse development and data engineering. β€’ Strong proficiency in Amazon Redshift (cluster setup, schema design, performance tuning, and maintenance). β€’ Advanced skills in SQL and experience writing complex queries, stored procedures, and ETL logic. β€’ Proficiency with ETL/ELT tools such as AWS Glue, Talend, Informatica, or Apache Airflow. β€’ Experience with AWS ecosystem (S3, Lambda, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM, etc.). β€’ Working knowledge of data modeling techniques (Star/Snowflake schemas, dimensional modeling). β€’ Familiarity with Python or Shell scripting for data automation. β€’ Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance principles.
