• Summary
The Ash Group is hiring a Data Warehouse ETL Engineer for our client (a global technology distributor connecting leading manufacturers of electronic components and computing solutions) based in Burlingame, CA.
This senior role requires 10–15 years of experience in building, optimizing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines for analytics and Machine Learning (ML). Mandatory skills include strong Python proficiency, complex SQL, hands-on ETL/ELT pipeline development, and implementation of robust data quality checks.
Role Details
• Compensation: Competitive pay rate of $66 per hour.
• Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, and direct primary care benefits. After six months of employment, enjoy a 4% matched 401(k) plan with immediate 100% vesting.
• Duration: 12-month contract.
• Location: 100% Onsite in Burlingame, CA.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines to support large-scale analytics and machine learning applications.
• Write efficient and reusable Python code for data ingestion, transformation, and validation, utilizing libraries like Pandas or PySpark.
• Write complex SQL queries to work with large datasets and optimize data retrieval processes from relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Implement rigorous data quality checks and validators to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists and ML engineers to operationalize machine learning models and support their data needs.
• Monitor, debug, and improve the performance and scalability of data systems and processes.
What We’re Looking For
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• 10–15 years of experience in data engineering, building, and optimizing data pipelines.
• Strong proficiency in Python (using data engineering libraries) is required.
• Solid knowledge of SQL and experience working with relational databases.
• Hands-on experience creating and enforcing data validation and governance standards.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus.
• Experience with version control (Git), big data tools (Spark/Hadoop), and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) is highly desirable.
