Role description
Role Title: Data Warehouse Engineer
Employment Type: Contract
Duration: 6 month contract, with potential extension
Preferred Location: Remote in Michigan - some travel to Plymouth, MI may be needed
Role Description:
We are seeking a Data Warehouse Expert / Consultant to support the continued growth and enhancement of our enterprise manufacturing data environment. This role will focus on integrating shop floor and operational systems into a centralized data warehouse architecture while improving reporting, analytics, and KPI visibility across the organization.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with modern cloud data technologies, strong data integration expertise, and the ability to collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and enhance enterprise data warehouse solutions to support manufacturing operations and reporting needs
• Integrate distributed shop floor and operational systems into a centralized data warehouse environment
• Develop and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration processes
• Build and optimize data models for reporting, analytics, and KPI generation
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Support reporting and dashboard development using Power BI and related tools
• Work with APIs and external data sources to automate data ingestion and consolidation
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and performance across the data platform
• Partner with internal teams and external vendors to support ongoing data initiatives and enhancements
• Contribute to the advancement and sophistication of the existing data warehouse architecture
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
• 3-5 years of experience in data warehouse development, data engineering, or related fields
• Strong experience with: Azure Data Factory,
• Snowflake, Power BI, API integrations
• Experience designing and supporting ETL/ELT processes
• Knowledge of data modeling, data integration, and reporting best practices
• Experience working with manufacturing, shop floor, or operational data environments preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in enterprise manufacturing environments
• Familiarity with cloud-based data architectures and modern analytics platforms
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment
