Data Quality Engineer / Data Warehouse Tester
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Data Quality Engineer / Data Warehouse Tester to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL, data warehousing, ETL processes, and test automation, with a proactive mindset to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of enterprise data systems. This role works closely with data engineers, BI developers, and business stakeholders to validate data across complex pipelines and reporting layers.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and execute data validation and data quality test cases for data warehouse and ETL processes
• Perform end-to-end testing of data pipelines, including source-to-target validation
• Validate data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness across systems
• Write complex SQL queries to analyze and validate large datasets
• Develop and maintain automated data tests using test management and automation frameworks
• Test and validate BI reports and dashboards to ensure alignment with business requirements
• Identify, document, and track data defects, working closely with engineering teams for resolution
• Participate in requirements reviews and contribute to data quality standards and best practices
• Support regression testing for data warehouse enhancements and releases
Required Skills & Qualifications
• 3–5 years of experience in data warehouse testing or data quality engineering
• Strong expertise in SQL for data analysis and validation
• Hands-on experience testing ETL processes and data pipelines
• Experience with automated testing tools and test management systems (e.g., X-Ray, TestRail, Zephyr, or similar)
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, schemas (star/snowflake), and data modeling
• Experience testing Business Intelligence (BI) tools, including:
• Power BI (preferred)
• SAP BusinessObjects
• Tableau
• Dundas BI
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
