Database Administrator (Advanced)
Location: Tallahassee, FL Duration: 4 Months (Contract)
Overview: "Navitas Partners, LLC" is seeking an experienced Advanced Database Administrator (DBA) to support enterprise database and GIS environments. The role involves database design, administration, performance tuning, and operational support while ensuring compliance with security and data standards.
Requirements:
Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years combined experience in database administration
Strong experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle (19c+), SQL Server (2012+)
Experience with GIS and spatial databases, including ESRI SDE
Hands-on experience with ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Enterprise, and cloud-hosted GIS services
Azure SQL experience is a plus
Responsibilities:
Perform daily database administration and operational support
Design, implement, and maintain database structures and schemas
Monitor and tune database performance
Conduct SQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL code reviews
Develop documentation, standards, and procedures
Collaborate with project and business teams
Assist with training and mentoring technical staff
Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of RDBMS principles and relational database design
Ability to independently resolve complex enterprise database issues
Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing needs
Strong teamwork, leadership, and quality assurance mindset
