Data Engineer
Role Summary: Mid-level data engineer owning a defined analytics workstream such as reliability, performance, maintenance, energy, or production reporting. Data Engineer II delivers reliable, performant datasets and partners with business users to ensure trusted KPIs and data governance.
Key Responsibilities
• Build analytics-ready models and Power BI datasets with DAX optimization and aggregations.
• Design robust, cost-aware pipelines across Snowflake and other datalakes; handle batch and near real-time scenarios.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and data freshness.
• Own data quality rules, implement dataset certification readiness and RLS
• Align with OT/IT/IIT Security, networking, and compliance (cyber, data privacy); steward Azure AD group-based access
• Translate processes into standardized KPI definitions and reconciled datasets.
• Apply Azure AD OAuth2, service principals/managed identities for API integrations (SharePoint REST/Graph, Storage).
• GitHub & Version Control:
• Independently manage branching and rebasing
• Write high quality PRs with test/rollback notes
• Version/tag pipelines and libraries
• Contribute to GitHub Actions / CI workflows
Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, Excel, GitHub, SharePoint and Power BI.
• Practical Snowflake experience
• Experience working with CMMS, RBI, and industrial time-series data.
• Familiarity with Azure or Fabric-based data platforms.
• Familiar with petro-chemical processes and downstream business context.
• Demonstrated Power BI model performance tuning and dataset governance.
• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Systems, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
