We are seeking a skilled Database Analyst to join our team in San Francisco, California. This position is a contract-to-permanent opportunity, requiring a detail-oriented individual with a strong technical background and hands-on experience in database management and data migration. The role involves working on-site three days a week and contributing to the seamless integration and optimization of organizational data systems.
Responsibilities:
Lead the migration of data from legacy systems into Apricot/Bonterra, ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout the process.
Utilize Apricot's tools to design and modify forms, fields, and import mappings for complex datasets.
Extract, transform, and clean data from scattered legacy databases using SQL Server and Access.
Validate, troubleshoot, and verify data to maintain compliance with reporting standards and privacy regulations.
Develop training materials and provide hands-on support to non-technical staff during the transition to a unified data system.
Design and implement reporting and visualization solutions using tools like Power BI and Tableau.
Collaborate with diverse teams to ensure data integrity and promote consistent practices across all programs.
Monitor and improve data quality to support grant and contract reporting needs.
Provide technical guidance to staff and foster a collaborative, mission-driven work environment.
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience in database analysis and data migration.
Proficiency in Apricot/Bonterra for data mapping, cleaning, and importing.
Strong knowledge of SQL Server and Access.
Ability to extract, normalize, and transform data from multiple systems.
Experience with reporting tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Proven ability to train and support non-technical staff effectively.
Familiarity with nonprofit environments and equity-focused practices.
