Role description
This team is leading a major state agency modernization effort called MAX Operations, a project that has essentially solved the DMV problem. Everything is fully digital, cleanly formatted, and supported by AI-driven camera agents, creating an experience where people can get in and out of an Arizona DMV in under 15 minutes. They are hiring a Data Engineer with strong Azure SQL experience to help build, migrate, and stabilize the next generation of data systems. You will play a key role in moving legacy DMV data into a modern, cloud-aligned architecture that powers this new digital workflow. What You Will Do • Lead and execute database migrations from legacy systems into the new MAX Operations platform • Work across both Azure SQL and Microsoft SQL Server environments • Support new ETL pipeline development, performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting • Collaborate with developers and architects to ensure data structures support redesigned workflows • Ensure reliability, security, and long-term stability of the updated DMV data infrastructure What They Are Looking For • Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server • Hands-on experience with Azure SQL • Background in data migrations and or net new database development • Ability to operate within a large-scale modernization project • Clear communicator who thrives in a collaborative, family-style culture Posted By: Joshua Cairns
