Role description
We are seeking a Cassandra Database Engineer specializing in NoSQL database administration, with a primary focus on Cassandra and expertise in Public Cloud technology (AWS/GCP). Key Responsibilities This role is centered on database operational activities for high-profile production platforms, including: • Operations & Incident Management: Managing database operations, incident response, alert resolution, and engaging third-party support. • Performance & Maintenance: Performing database performance analysis, deployment, installation, patching, change management, and hardening procedures across cloud, hosted, and on-premises platforms. • Monitoring & Recovery: Deploying monitoring solutions and testing database restore/recovery procedures. • Support & Improvement: Providing expertise to support and project teams, participating in performance tuning, security evaluations, and offering proactive recommendations. Required Experience • 8+ years of experience in Cassandra administration (operations focus, not architecture/design). • Expertise in NoSQL databases (specifically Cassandra) and public cloud database deployment/management. • Proven background in operating high-SLA, high-performance production databases and managing change on these platforms. • Expertise in high-availability database architectures and defining database standards/procedures. Preferred Skills • Experience with DataStax Enterprise Cassandra, Linux, Kubernetes/Docker, and Public Cloud tools like Gitlab, Terraform, and Datadog is a plus. • The ideal candidate is a proactive team player with strong technical and communication skills, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage tight deadlines and emergency incidents.
