About the Opportunity
Join one of the nation's most critical defense programs supporting the development and sustainment of next-generation aerospace systems. We are seeking a Database Engineer / Database Architect to support enterprise logistics and product support databases that enable mission readiness and long-term system sustainment.
This role is ideal for professionals with experience in database engineering, logistics data management, provisioning, cataloging, and aerospace or defense sustainment programs. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to develop and maintain logistics data supporting the full product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics Product Data (LPD) Management
• Collaborate with the Logistics Product Data (LPD) team to develop and maintain:
• Logistics Support Analysis (LSA)
• Logistics Product Data (LPD)
• Logistics Operational Risk Analysis (LORA)
• Support preparation of government-required logistics deliverables.
Database Development & Administration
• Develop, maintain, and enhance the SLICwave Life Cycle (SLICwave LC) relational database.
• Ensure accurate integration of logistics, sustainment, and product support data across the program.
• Maintain data integrity and support enterprise logistics database initiatives.
Cataloging & Provisioning
• Create and maintain cataloging and provisioning records.
• Interpret engineering drawings, technical data packages (TDPs), and product documentation to accurately represent system components and assemblies.
• Develop and maintain provisioning Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Compliance & Reporting
• Generate and maintain GEIA-STD-007 compliant provisioning reports.
• Support Operations & Sustainment (O&S) activities through accurate logistics documentation and reporting.
Cross-Functional Engineering Support
• Partner with systems, hardware, software, and logistics engineering teams.
• Review system architecture and product configurations to ensure database accuracy.
• Support supply chain planning, Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) tracking, sparing analysis, and sustainment planning.
Required Qualifications
• Experience with relational databases and database administration.
• Knowledge of Logistics Support Analysis (LSA), Logistics Product Data (LPD), provisioning, cataloging, or sustainment engineering.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical documentation, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Experience supporting aerospace, defense, military, or advanced manufacturing programs.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Huntsville, AL.
• Must be eligible to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with SLICwave Life Cycle (SLICwave LC).
• Familiarity with GEIA-STD-007 reporting requirements.
• Knowledge of Integrated Product Support (IPS), Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), and Life Cycle Logistics.
• Experience supporting government or Department of Defense (DoD) programs.
