We are seeking an experienced Azure Database Engineer to support a large-scale cloud modernization initiative focused on building a centralized Azure Data Lakehouse and modern Azure database environment. This is an exciting opportunity to work on enterprise data platforms, cloud infrastructure, and data transformation solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and implement relational and non-relational databases in Azure.
• Build and maintain Azure Data Lakes and Azure Data Lakehouse solutions.
• Develop and optimize data transformation processes and data access patterns.
• Administer, secure, and maintain Azure database environments.
• Implement backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security, compliance, and operational excellence.
• Create technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer.
• Mentor junior Database Engineers and promote best practices.
Required Skills
• Strong experience with Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake, and Azure database technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks.
• Experience with Oracle Databases.
• Expertise in Azure Data Factory (ADF) and data transformation solutions.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure integration.
• Proficiency with Azure Monitor, Azure Resource Manager (ARM), Azure CLI, and PowerShell.
• Experience implementing RBAC, encryption, and network security.
• Knowledge of Azure SQL Managed Instances, Elastic Pools, data modeling, schema design, and indexing strategies.
• Experience with Azure Backup, Geo-Replication, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Strong mentoring, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills
• Experience with Teradata Data Warehouse Administration.
• Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and enterprise data architectures.
• Experience optimizing Azure-based data platforms and Lakehouse environments.
