Database Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled MongoDB Database Engineer (NoSQL DBA) who can immediately contribute to managing and optimizing MongoDB environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with MongoDB and be open to transitioning into a full-fledged NoSQL DBA role, supporting database operations, performance, and scalability in a production environment. Key Responsibilities: • Manage, monitor, and maintain MongoDB databases in production environments • Perform database installation, configuration, and upgrades • Handle backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning • Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and monitoring • Implement and manage replication, sharding, and high availability setups • Troubleshoot database issues and provide quick resolution in production systems • Collaborate with development teams to design efficient NoSQL data models • Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance across systems • Support migration from traditional databases to NoSQL (MongoDB) where required Required Skills & Qualifications: • Strong hands-on experience with MongoDB (queries, aggregation, indexing) • Experience in NoSQL database administration (MongoDB preferred) • Knowledge of replication, sharding, and performance tuning • Familiarity with backup/recovery strategies and monitoring tools • Basic understanding of Linux/Unix environments • Experience with scripting (Shell/Python) is a plus • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Preferred Qualifications: • Prior experience in a NoSQL DBA or Database Engineer role • Exposure to other NoSQL databases (Cassandra, Couchbase, etc.) • Experience working in production support or high-availability systems • Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) Key Expectations: • Candidate should be able to start working on MongoDB immediately • Willingness to transition into a NoSQL DBA role and handle database ownership • Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment
