Role description
Databricks Architect Job Summary We are seeking a highly experienced Databricks Architect to lead the design, architecture, governance, and optimization of enterprise-scale data and analytics platforms. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of IT experience with deep expertise in Databricks, Apache Spark, cloud platforms, and modern data architectures. This role will be responsible for defining best practices, driving platform strategy, and leading large-scale data transformation initiatives. Key Responsibilities • Design and architect scalable, secure, and high-performance Databricks solutions. • Define enterprise data architecture standards, governance, and best practices. • Lead the implementation of Databricks Lakehouse architecture, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog. • Architect end-to-end data pipelines, data integration, and analytics solutions. • Provide technical leadership for data engineering, platform administration, and cloud teams. • Design and optimize Spark workloads for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency. • Collaborate with business stakeholders, data architects, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions. • Establish security, compliance, access controls, and governance frameworks. • Lead cloud architecture initiatives across Azure, AWS, or GCP environments. • Drive automation, CI/CD implementation, infrastructure-as-code, and DevOps best practices. • Review solution designs, conduct architecture assessments, and mentor engineering teams. • Support platform modernization, migration, and enterprise data transformation programs. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. • 15+ years of overall IT experience. • 8+ years of experience in Big Data, Data Engineering, or Analytics Architecture. • Extensive experience designing and implementing Databricks solutions at enterprise scale. • Strong expertise in Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and Lakehouse Architecture. • Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP cloud platforms. • Strong knowledge of data governance, security, IAM, networking, and compliance frameworks. • Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, Spark, and distributed computing. • Experience with enterprise data warehousing, data lakes, and modern analytics platforms. • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills. Preferred Qualifications • Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional or Databricks Architect certification. • Cloud Architect certifications (Azure, AWS, or GCP). • Experience with Terraform, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code. • Experience leading large-scale cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
