Role description
We are looking for a Databricks Data Engineer to help build and modernize data pipelines supporting FEMA’s enterprise data ecosystem. What You’ll Do • Build and maintain data ingestion and transformation pipelines in Databricks using PySpark and Databricks SQL • Migrate datasets and ETL processes from FEMA’s legacy EDW into Delta Lake on Databricks • Validate data parity between source systems and migrated datasets • Design and implement Medallion Architecture (Bronze / Silver / Gold) with proper lineage and governance • Use Unity Catalog for data access control and governance • Leverage Databricks Autoloader, Lakeflow Connect, and Structured Streaming for incremental data ingestion • Support curated datasets for Power BI, Databricks AI/BI Dashboards, and custom applications Required Skills • Strong hands-on experience in Databricks data engineering • Proficiency in PySpark, Python, and SQL • Experience with Delta Lake and Medallion Architecture • Knowledge of Autoloader and/or Structured Streaming • Experience working with Unity Catalog Additional Requirements • Must be a US Citizen • Must be eligible to obtain Public Trust Clearance
