Role description
Work type: Full time Language: English Key Responsibilities: Provide L2 support for LAN, WAN, WLAN, and data center network infrastructure. Troubleshoot and resolve escalated network incidents, outages, latency issues, and performance problems. Monitor network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless controllers. Handle incident and service request tickets using ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Jira, Remedy, etc.). Configuration & Maintenance Configure and maintain enterprise switches, routers, and firewalls (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Aruba, HP, etc.). Implement routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), VLANs, STP, HSRP/VRRP, NAT, ACLs, and QoS. Perform network device upgrades, patches, and configuration changes following change-management processes. Manage VPN solutions including site-to-site and remote-access VPNs. Wireless Network Support Manage corporate WLAN infrastructure and access points. Perform wireless troubleshooting, AP deployment, RF tuning, and heatmap analysis. Security & Compliance Work with security teams to ensure firewall rules, security policies, and network segmentation are properly maintained. Monitor and mitigate network security threats and vulnerabilities. Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate network diagrams, IP addressing schemes, device inventories, and change logs. Prepare reports on network capacity, utilization, and performance. Collaboration Work closely with L1 engineers by providing guidance and mentoring. Coordinate with L3 engineers, vendors, and ISPs for complex issues and escalations. Required Skills & QualificationsTechnical Skills Strong hands-on experience with routing & switching (Cisco, Juniper, HP, Aruba). Good understanding of routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP). Firewall and VPN experience (Fortinet, Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Sophos, etc.). Wireless networking concepts (WLC, AP provisioning, RF fundamentals). Network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, Cisco Prime, NetFlow analyzers). Familiarity with cloud networking (Azure/AWS VNETs, VPN gateways) is a plus. Soft Skills Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Good communication skills for interacting with teams and vendors. Ability to work under pressure and handle high-priority incidents. Team player with willingness to support 24/7 operations (if required). Education & Certifications Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Networking, or related field. Certifications preferred: CCNA / CCNP (Routing & Switching or Enterprise) JNCIA / JNCIS Fortinet NSE4 Aruba or Meraki certifications (optional but beneficial) Job Types: Full-time, Contract Work Location: In person
