Decision Principal Data Scientist
• Contract to Hire
• Location: United States (Remote flexibility)
Compensation: $70–$85 per hour
Duration: 6-month contract with potential for full-time conversion
About the Role
We are supporting a healthcare technology organization in their search for a Decision Data Scientist. This role focuses on turning clinical, operational, and patient engagement data into actionable insights that drive decision-making across the business. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop models and frameworks that improve patient outcomes, medication adherence, and overall cost of care.
Key Responsibilities
• Build predictive and prescriptive models to optimize patient outreach, prioritization, and care outcomes
• Develop analytical frameworks to measure the impact of interventions on cost, experience, and performance
• Apply statistical modeling, experimentation, and causal inference techniques to evaluate effectiveness
• Create dashboards and data tools to support operational and clinical teams
• Partner with engineering to integrate models into production systems and workflows
• Analyze performance metrics across providers and payors to identify improvement opportunities
• Present insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Qualifications
• Master’s or PhD in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related discipline
• 8+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or decision science
• Strong proficiency in Python or R, along with SQL
• Experience with statistical modeling, machine learning, and experimentation methods
• Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
Preferred Experience
• Background in healthcare, pharmacy services, or value-based care
• Experience working with patient data, adherence models, or population health analytics
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and deploying models into production environments
