Design Architect Analyst ( Sparx Enterprise Architect, Azure, DevOps, Data ) London £600-700 per day inside Location: Hybrid – 2 days/week onsite in Central London Duration: 6 months Day Rate: £700/day (Inside IR35) 🏢 Client Overview Design Architect Analyst ( Sparx Enterprise Architect, Azure, DevOps, Data ) Our client, a leading organisation in the energy sector, is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to support a major transformation programme within its settlement services division. The role sits within the Architecture and Design team, which works closely with analysts and vendor development teams to ensure technical solutions align with business needs and regulatory requirements. Project Summary The client is currently delivering a multi-year Modernisation Programme aimed at transforming its systems and processes. A key focus is rebuilding the calculation engine for one of its core schemes. Objectives include: • Transitioning to a microservices-based architecture with modular, loosely coupled applications. • Implementing a cloud-based data repository and reporting solution using Microsoft Azure technologies. The Architecture and Design Team plays a central role in defining future system designs and architectural principles for vendor development teams. Key Responsibilities • Consolidate and update target state design and architecture principles. • Create and maintain architecture diagrams (current, target, and transition states). • Populate and link elements in DevOps Wiki across service, component, interface, API, messages, and files. • (Nice to have) Provide training and best practice documentation using EA Sparx Document Generation. Ideal Candidate Profile • Self-motivated and proactive, with strong ownership of assigned tasks. • Experience working within an architecture function or team. • Able to adapt to shifting priorities and deliver under pressure. • Comfortable reviewing vendor solutions and documentation for alignment with enterprise architecture principles. • Skilled in navigating all stages of the project/product lifecycle — from inception to decommissioning. • Strong multitasking and problem-solving abilities. Desirable Skills • Proficiency in Sparx Enterprise Architect or similar UML tools. • Experience with DevOps, Jira, or equivalent project management software. • Familiarity with Azure DevOps Boards and DevOps Wiki for managing user stories and documentation. • Awareness of tools like Databricks, Terraform, and Azure Functions (used by vendors — not mandatory). • Interest in event-driven architecture and microservices communication.
