𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻:
This position primarily works with large, normalized Oracle transactional databases and is responsible for extracting, validating, analyzing, automating, and maintaining operational data.
This is not a traditional Business Intelligence or Dashboard Development position. Approximately 70–80% of the work involves writing Oracle SQL and PL/SQL directly against transactional databases. Candidates should have experience developing SQL from scratch rather than primarily working with data warehouses, semantic models, or pre-built Business Intelligence datasets.
𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗗𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀:
● Develop, maintain, and optimize complex Oracle SQL and PL/SQL programs.
● Write simple and complex SQL queries from scratch against normalized Oracle transactional databases.
● Analyze business requirements and determine the appropriate tables, relationships, joins, and business rules needed to answer complex business questions.
● Extract, validate, transform, and analyze operational data for reporting, research, grants, and executive requests.
● Develop and maintain automated SQL processes, scheduled database jobs, and recurring data refreshes.
● Troubleshoot SQL scripts, automated jobs, and data quality issues.
● Create efficient, reusable, and well-documented SQL code.
● Support recurring operational reports, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), legislative reporting, and research initiatives.
● Collaborate with business users to understand reporting needs and communicate analytical findings.
● Support Tableau dashboards and other data visualization initiatives as needed.
