Job title: BIM Developer
Job Type: Fixed Term Contract
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Start date: January 2026
Duration: 4 Months Contract – Potential to extend or convert to permanent
Pay rate: £25-35ph PAYE
Location: Bristol/Hybrid
Hours of work: Upto 40 hours per week – 2 days per week required in Bristol
Role information:
As the BIM Developer, you will design and implement digital tools for civil engineering projects, including calculation modules and 3D model-based applications. You will work with C# and Python to support BIM workflows, ensure data consistency, and contribute to the digital transformation of reinforced concrete design.
• You will participate in testing new digital solutions proposed by the various stakeholders for projects, ensuring the efficient detailing of reinforced concrete structures and supporting related tasks for other projects as needed.
• You will develop software and plugins to support control and modelling activities, including updating or creating tools for Tekla Structures software using C#
• You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure BIM development quality and compliance with project standards.
Qualifications/Experience
• All candidates MUST hold a Degree in Civil Engineering, Software development, or a related discipline combining structural engineering and programming skills
• All candidates MUST have a minimum of 3 years of experience in developing engineering calculation and/or BIM tools
• You must be proficient in C# and Python programming
• You must have experience in algorithm development for civil engineering execution studies
• You must have knowledge of object-oriented programming, C# Open API, and VBA
• You must have skills in performance optimization and large scale data processing
• You must have familiarity with 3D modelling libraries and tools (Tekla Structures)
• You must have experience with GitLab version control platform
• You must have a solid understanding of BIM concepts and tools is a strong asset
