About the Role
We are seeking an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to join our growing technology team in London. You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines that enable secure, scalable, and reliable delivery of our products and services.
As part of a collaborative cross-functional environment, you’ll help drive infrastructure automation, cloud cost optimisation, and DevOps best practices across our teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, build, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for application delivery and infrastructure deployment.
• Use Terraform (preferably with HashiCorp certification) to automate environment provisioning and configuration.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise systems performance, availability, and scalability.
• Implement and manage security, compliance, and backup processes in cloud environments.
• Collaborate closely with software engineers, QA, and product teams to streamline development workflows.
• Contribute to DevOps culture through continuous improvement, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
Essential Skills & Experience
• Proven hands-on experience as a DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or similar role.
• Strong expertise in AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, ECS, Lambda, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, IAM, etc.).
• Proficiency with Terraform (HashiCorp Certified Terraform Associate preferred).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or AWS CodePipeline).
• Solid understanding of containerisation (Docker, ECS, or Kubernetes).
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar.
• Familiarity with Linux administration, networking, and system security.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Datadog).
Desirable Skills
• Exposure to infrastructure security best practices (e.g., CIS Benchmarks, AWS Well-Architected Framework).
• Knowledge of configuration management (Ansible, Chef, or Puppet).
• Experience with serverless architectures or event-driven systems.
• Understanding of GitOps workflows and tooling (e.g., ArgoCD, Flux).
• Experience in multi-account AWS governance and cost optimisation.
Certifications (Preferred)
• HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional
