DevOps Engineer

Job Description • 6 month contract within the public sector • Hybrid working - biweekly onsite in Manchester/Newcastle • ??530 per day Inside IR35 • SC Clearance Eligibility required DevOps Engineer (Java / Kubernetes) Our public sector client is seeking a number of talented DevOps Engineers to join the team and work on new piece of work. You'll play a key role in designing, automating, and optimizing our cloud-native platforms, working closely with developers and architects to ensure smooth delivery of high-quality applications. What You'll Do • Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for Java-based applications. • Deploy, monitor, and manage services running on Kubernetes (on-prem or cloud). • Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) • Collaborate with software engineers to improve application reliability and scalability. • Drive automation initiatives to enhance development and operations workflows. • Ensure system security, resilience, and compliance best practices are met. What We're Looking For • Proven experience in DevOps engineering • Strong experience working in a Java development environment • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, etc.). • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS).
