DevOps Engineer
Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid)
Duration: Multi-year contract (initial 36-month term)
Overview
This DevOps Engineer role supports the Enterprise Decision Support and Data Governance (EDGE) organization β a technology and business partnership designed to accelerate data and analytics delivery across the enterprise. The team focuses on building scalable, secure, and efficient data platforms and web applications that enable business insights and innovation.
You will play a key role in designing and automating the infrastructure, pipelines, and processes that enable continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) across Azure environments. This is a hands-on engineering role with strong collaboration across data, infrastructure, and development teams.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Infrastructure Automation & CI/CD
β’ Build and maintain automated deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps and related CI/CD tools.
β’ Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Azure Resource Manager (ARM), Bicep, or Terraform.
β’ Support continuous integration workflows for ML and data engineering pipelines.
β’ Azure Cloud Engineering
β’ Deploy and manage Azure services including App Services, Databricks, Data Lake Storage, and Azure Machine Learning.
β’ Automate provisioning of resources and enforce consistent configurations across environments.
β’ Implement and manage observability solutions using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
β’ Security, Governance & Compliance
β’ Apply Azure security best practices, including RBAC, managed identities, and network rule enforcement.
β’ Conduct audits and assist with vulnerability remediation to ensure compliance with enterprise standards.
β’ Performance & Operations
β’ Partner with development and architecture teams to optimize infrastructure, improve reliability, and enhance performance.
β’ Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for incidents; implement preventative measures.
β’ Support ongoing modernization of the EDGE web portal by aligning with business-defined interface and design standards.
Required Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
β’ 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or related technical roles.
β’ Proven expertise with Microsoft Azure cloud services and automation frameworks.
β’ Strong scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, and Azure CLI.
β’ Experience with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
β’ Solid understanding of networking, performance optimization, and security principles.
β’ Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner across engineering, data, and business teams.
Preferred Skills
β’ Familiarity with machine learning model deployment, monitoring, and CI/CD integration.
β’ Experience in data-centric cloud environments (e.g., Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, Data Lake).
β’ Previous experience supporting large enterprise or utility organizations.
