DevOps Engineer (Gitlab)

Description We are seeking 2 DevOps Engineers to join a high-impact IRAD initiative supporting undersea warfare capabilities. These roles are central to modernizing build automation and CI/CD pipelines, transitioning from legacy Jenkins/Bash workflows to GitLab-based solutions. You’ll collaborate across IRAD programs and capability packages, helping shape the future of software delivery for the entire site. Key Responsibilities: - Architect and implement modern GitLab CI/CD pipelines to replace legacy Jenkins/Bash workflows. - Evaluate existing build processes and identify opportunities for modularization and optimization. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to break down monolithic packages into modular components. - Troubleshoot GitLab pipelines and integrate static code analysis tools (e.g., Fortify). - Generate and manage SBOMs (Software Bills of Material). - Translate and refactor Bash scripts into maintainable pipeline components. - Interface with binary management tools like Artifactory. - Explore opportunities to leverage AI for build flow analysis and refactoring. Skills gitlab, ci/cd, embedded c, jenkins, bash, static code, fortify, artifactory Top Skills Details gitlab,ci/cd,embedded c Additional Skills & Qualifications Required Skills & Experience: - 5 Years of experience with GitLab CI/CD and pipeline architecture. - Experience with Bash scripting and C programming. - Experience with Jenkins and legacy build systems. - Experience with static analysis tools (e.g., Fortify) and binary management (e.g., Artifactory). - Must be able to read, interpret, and refactor complex build scripts. - Active Secret Clearance Preferred: - Exposure to AI/ML tools for build flow analysis and optimization. - Experience with Gradle or other build automation tools. - Familiarity with cloud-based IRAD environments. Experience Level Intermediate Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Manassas, VA. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $90.00/hr.
