Role description
Responsibilities
Kforce has a client in Irving, TX that is seeking a DevOps Engineer. Summary: As a DevOps Engineer supporting Azure & AWS Databricks from a DevOps perspective, this role requires a hybrid skill set spanning primarily cloud infrastructure management and deployment, automation and CI/CD practices. It is helpful if this person has exposure to ELT and data engineering and Database Administration Concepts, etc. The DevOps Engineer will be responsible developing the foundation Databricks as an Analytics Platform Engineering team member, where they will develop automation via terraform modules or other tooling to deploy Databricks Workspaces, along with other cloud resources. We are developing a platform on top of a PaaS offering, where you also need to implement a CICD solution in Gitlab.
Requirements
β’ Preferred Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203) or Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400) are highly valued
β’ Experience with Docker and container orchestration (Azure Kubernetes Service - AKS) is highly beneficial
β’ Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills to work effectively in fast-paced, agile environments
β’ Azure Synapse/ADF experience
β’ Expertise on RBAC (terraform modules and DCONF/YAML)
β’ Experience with ADLS Gen 2 Storage Types; AZ Copy; LightSwitch to manage VM's; External/Internal Connections to ADF Azure Permissions, ACL's
β’ Proficiency in Python, SQL (SQL, query optimization), and scripting languages like PowerShell or Bash for automation and data manipulation tasks
β’ Data Engineering Fundamentals: Basic understanding of Data engineering principals such as ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, data warehousing, and big data concepts
β’ Monitoring & Logging: Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using tools like Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights
Cloud Platform Expertise
β’ Deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure and/or AWS services, specifically, Azure and or AWS Databricks
β’ Exposure to Azure Synapse Analytics (SQL pools, Spark pools, pipelines), Azure Data Factory (pipelines, triggers, data flows), would be beneficial as well
DevOps Tools & Methodologies:
β’ CI/CD platforms: Expertise Gitlab or Azure DevOps (Azure Pipelines, Boards, Repos) or GitHub Actions
β’ Version Control: Strong experience with Git and branching strategies
β’ IaC tools: Proficiency in Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
