Role description

I am looking for a Cloud Engineer to join my client on an initial 6 or 12 month engagement. This will be working for a high profile Defence client so you MUST have active eDV / UKIC DV Clearance to be considered for this role.

You should have expertise in several of the following areas:

   • Extensive experience with AWS and a strong ability to address complex business challenges, recognized as a subject matter expert in AWS

   • Proven skill in architecting and implementing solutions using AWS services, including EC2, ECS, EKS, S3, Lambda, RDS, KMS, ELB, SNS, SQS, and IAM

   • Proficiency in scripting with languages such as Shell, Bash, or Python

   • Solid understanding of Linux systems, networking, routing, and firewall configurations

   • A deep grasp of AWS operational best practices, particularly in monitoring, observability, and FinOps

   • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation, CDK, and Terraform

Additionally, it would be advantageous to have experience with:

   • AWS Associate-level certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, Developer, or DevOps)

   • Coding proficiency in at least one language compatible with AWS Lambda

   • Working with container technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes, EKS, and ECS

   • Implementing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools such as Bamboo, Jenkins, TeamCity, or Bitbucket

   • Conducting automated testing of code using appropriate testing framework

You will be expected to be onsite minimum of three days a week in one of their locations across the UK - Locations can be shared confidentially on the phone.

This role will be Inside of IR35 paying up to £650 a day.
